Van Dyke Café

There are some things you
need to know about Van Dyke Café. First, you're going to have to wait.
Second, some of the servers have that 'I don't give a shit, I'm a waiter
in South Beach'
attitude. Third, the dress looks casual, but isn't. Fourth, it's not all
Gay. And last, you're going to have great, memorable meal and an opportunity to
people watch on the Lincoln Road Mall that makes it all worth it.
The soups are homemade
and delicious, the salads are fat and piled high, the sandwiches are
phenomenal. A good portion of the seating is outside. Even if you do end
up inside, there are open doors all around the dining room.
Save room for Cuban coffee
and dessert.
Look for the strangely
scattered red awnings on a six or seven story renovated building from the
1920's.
