You know a restaurant has got to be good if they can make it to their 10^th Anniversary.  Well, Stork’s Bakery & Café had their anniversary back in the Fall of 2007 and are still going strong.  Known for their desserts and pastries, they also have one of the single-most impressive varieties of coffee on a daily basis in Fort Lauderdale.  All of their salads and sandwiches are made fresh and to order, but the thing that really put them on the map are their desserts. 

As a convenient destination for both foot and drive-by traffic, they have two locations in Fort Lauderdale, one on Las Olas Blvd and the other on NE 15^th Avenue in Wilton Manors.  Both locations feature similar products and each has their own special clientele but the service is always prompt and ready to do whatever it takes to make you feel at home.  Storks was started by Jim Stork who eventually ran and won to become a now former Mayor of Wilton Manors.  He has helped bring pride into the business and a sense of political awareness not seen in many around town. 

Once a year, right in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Stork’s has their now famous tasting event that lasts all weekend long.  You are able to try a majority of deserts that they carry on a full-time basis, such as the French Chocolate Cake, Mom’s Chocolate Fudge Cake, the decadent Chambord Mousse Cake as well as the Holiday specialties like the Bouche de Noel that will make you want to order one (minus the holiday foliage) and eat it yourself.  Kitchen Manager and Head Baker turned Owner Peter Dekaj (WilMa location) has been doing the now legendary Barbie cakes for countless festivals, parties, and functions.  Don’t forget to stop by for éclairs, cupcakes, and their wide variety of extra-large cookies!
