Many of you know the slight bit of discomfort you feel being on a same sex date in a restaurant you've never been in before, Will the person seating you perceive that you want to be seated like any other couple? Will they even be enlightened enough to realize that you are two guys on a date? Apparently at Sushi Saigon they are. That makes the rest easy.

Sushi Saigon isn't Vietnam-Japan fusion food. There's a Japanese Sushi menu and a Vietnamese menu. The Sushi menu includes all of the standard fare; California Rolls, Rainbow Rolls and a few clever twists like the Beauty and the Beast Roll made with with half tuna and half eel. Are tunas are better looking than eels?

The Vietnamese menu includes several noodle dishes, salads and soups. The entrees include chicken, beef, shrimp and Vietnamese Sausage. I would have tried the sausage if I'd noticed it before writing this review. Sushi Saigon is not only a carnivore's dream come true, there's no lack of selections for you vegetarians reading this.

I decided to try the Beef Lemongrass with Yellow Curry Sauce. The entre was served on a bed of noodles, lettuce, shredded carrots and sprouts that were so fresh and crunchy, they must grow them on the premises. Every bit of the entree was as tasty as it sounds and the Yellow Curry Sauce was the perfect accompaniment for the noodles and veggies.

My date ordered the Shrimp noodle soup and that too was prepared and served perfectly. For those of you who haven't done the Vietnamese soup thing yet, the vegetables are served in a separate dish and you mix the whole thing up yourself. Don't forget to ask for the spices. You'll be brought six different possibilities that will heat things up real fast.

The service was fantastic and the atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. All said, Sushi Saigon is a great place to go on a first date. We'll be back for more.
