With locations popping up all over Florida, we're lovin' Five Guys Burgers and Fries. These guys win accolades for best burgers nearly every time they enter a new area. The buildings are typically converted strip shopping center store fronts and the atmosphere is economy. The main feature of the decor is the accolades posted on the walls and checkerboard red and white tiles. There's a sort of minimalist approach to the entire operation and since the food is so good, that suits us just fine.

We've tried Five Guys several times and found the burgers to be tasty, juicy, hot and fresh every time. The meat is fresh, not frozen and the menu is simple. Just tell them if you want  a hamburger, cheeseburger or bacon burger and then choose from a huge list of topping that are heaped on with no extra charge. The toppings include all of standard fast-burger fare with a few additional items like A-1, BBQ Sauce, fried onions, sautéed mushrooms and hot sauce.

Five Guys also sells hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and veggie dogs.  That's about it for the menu except the fries served Cajun or regular. Here's the unbelievable thing about the fries; they're made fresh like the burgers. You'll find stacks of bags of potatoes in the dining area of the restaurant and a sign on the wall  informing you where that day's potatoes were grown. We've found that two people can split a small order of fries. I'd love to see someone order a large and get the whole thing down! Actually maybe I wouldn't.
