held a BBQ/Pool Party over Memorial Day weekend to officially launch their new
logo and new look for their website. Apparently, this was an event to remember
from those who were in attendance and lucky enough to receive an invite. A
veritable who's who of Fort Lauderdale based video stars, club promoters,
producers and friends were on hand to help Howard celebrate the new look
of the company. FabScout Entertainment is a talent management company

On
Monday, May 29th, Robert Scott presented the 1st
annual Miss South Florida and Miss South
Florida at Large at O’Zone in
South Miami. There were 5 contestants in the Regular
Pageant with Justice Devine placing 2nd runner up, Gloria
Klein placing 1st runner up and Amanda West winning. In
the plus Pageant Tangela Armani was 1st runner up and
Barbra Brice won. Also in a touching moment Johanna Douglas was
crowned the honorary Miss South Florida. The week prior to this they had the Mr.
Contest and Edwardo Nunez was 1st runner up and Jose Vega
won. Congratulations to Robert, Gia,
Harrison
and the entire
South Florida
pageantry system for a job well done.
Peter
Burke's
monthly Tea-Cruise set sail last Sunday and a great time was had by everyone.
Seen on board were Robert Joshua owner of Joshua Tree, Craig
from Hair Brainz Salon, Pompano Bill, Mark Haines, owner of this website

Street Festival 2006 |

The Stonewall Street Festival & Parade
is less than 3 weeks away! Already over 125 vendors have reserved space at the
festival and the Pride Guide has gone to print. The guides will be distributed
beginning June 6th, but it can be viewed now online at
http://www.stonewallstreetfestival.com/guide/slideshow.htm. The events of
Pride Week begin on Sunday June 11th with the Pride Picnic
at Snyder Park
from noon-5pm. This event is co-hosted by Pride of Greater
Fort Lauderdale, Pride South
Florida, and Women in Network. Later that night the Ramrod will be hosting the
Mr. Stonewall Leather competition at
their
bar. On Tuesday, June 13th, the Miss Stonewall Pageant
will be held at Elements and then on Wednesday, June 14th,
Elements will also be hosting the Mr. Stonewall Pageant. Their title
contests will conclude with the Ms Stonewall Pageant at New Moon Bar
on Thursday, June 15th. For information on entering these
contests, contact the individual bars. On Friday June 16th the
Stonewall Library presents the debut of “Pride: Party or Protest?”

Festival will be held Saturday night June 17th at China
White/Revolution. All door charges at this opening party will benefit
Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale. On Sunday June 18th the
main event arrives! The Stonewall Parade will kick off from
Fort Lauderdale
High School
at 11am and head north on Wilton Drive toward Five Points. Immediately
following the parade, the entertainment stage takes focus with an entire day
filled with singers, bands and entertainers! Highlights of the day will be
Marks Lists own Misty Eyez m’cing, the finals of the Florida State
Singing Competition, performances by Electra and the Girls from
Madame’s, Altered Ego, JD Danner, Jenna Drey and many more! At
1:45pm please gather at the stage for the presentation of the Karl Clark
Community Service Award, the Dana Manchester Humanitarian Award, and the
awarding of the 2006 PGFTL Grants which this year total $10,000.00. PGFTL
Grants are given to other non profit organizations whose efforts benefit the
GLBT community of Greater Fort Lauderdale. At 4pm their headline entertainer
Paul Lekakis will take the stage performing his hits Boom Boom Boom, Come
on Over to My House, and I Need a Vacation. For the full

Festival, Steel Nightclub will be hosting the Official Stonewall
Street Festival After Party! They would like you to dance the night away to
great music, drink specials, and an encore performance by Paul Lekakis! Anyone

Everything from
just-released highlights of the Broadway hit musical Wicked
to other popular show tunes, rock and roll, poignant ballads and even a good old
toe-tapping country hoedown will be featured in “We Are Family,” the
upcoming concert of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus Saturday and
Sunday, June 17-18 at 8 p.m. in the
Broward
Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale.
Under the direction of Todd Wiley, the Gay Men’s Chorus will take to the
Broward Center’s Amaturo Theatre stage with all of the talent and
showmanship you’ve come to expect from the chorus — especially for its annual
June show, known as a showcase for celebrating the diversity of musical styles,
cultures, lifestyles and of each of us as individuals of value. “The mission
of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus is to build community through quality
musical performances that promote a world that accepts and values diversity,”
Wiley noted. “We celebrate that diversity throughout our concert season and
our many community performances. But probably no other chorus event spotlights
that diversity quite like our June show. We look at it as a rousing way to end
our season, inviting our audiences to come together from all walks of life,
celebrating the rich diversity of our experiences, our musical culture, and our

On Friday, June 9th, Euphoria Fridays will be
celebrating its Three Year Anniversary with a huge
celebration. This event was started three years ago by promoter
Edison Farrow when the venue was Jade. It has survived
through the venue change and three years later is still going
strong. Maryel Epps will be performing from
9pm to
11pm for the Anniversary Party with DJs Gil Rodriguez
and Jenni Foxx starting at
11pm. Plus, Ebonee Excell, Kennedy Davenport and Mizz
Cori will be performing that night. The night was recently
revamped with new lighting, a new sound system, a new
11 O'clock
Drag Show. Mizz Cori was just hired as hostess for the Drag

will celebrate its 5th Annual Gala Dinner on

along with Care Resource (a not for profit organization)
will host a carnival weekend at Bill’s Filling Station. This
will be the 1st event Bills hosted for Care Resource. The
Carnival fundraiser will feature, Pull tabs, ring toss, floating
duckies, skeet ball, bean bag game, food vendors and much, much
more. All monies raised will go directly to Care Resource.
The Pet Project presents a Brunch benefit this Sunday June 11th
at
Fort Lauderdale’s newest Guest House Mary’s Resort (115
Tequesta Street). The brunch will be from 11:30 till 2pm and
feature Chef Charles Podesta, who has been chef to the
stars including
Cher,
Versace
and U2.

in cash and prizes and the winners will ride in the Stonewall

Congregation Etz Chaim,
a South Florida synagogue for GLBT Jews and their friends, will
observe GLBT Pride Week with a special Pride Shabbat
Service on Friday, June 16, at 8:30 p.m. Rabbi Harold F. Caminker and Cantorial Soloist Michael
Greenspan will include some special Pride prayers and songs
in the Service; and the Rev. Grant Ford, Senior Pastor of
the Sunshine Cathedral MCC, will offer special Pride Greetings.

Annual Stonewall Ball will take place on June 24th,
at The Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace in
West Palm Beach. The Cocktails & Patron Dinner will be at 6pm
and the Stonewall Ball will be at

10pm. Black Tie or 1960's Attire. As the largest event in the
country that brings the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Trandgender
community together with their elected officials, The Stonewall
ball highlights the importance of the Equal Rights movement.

Auditions
Scheduled for New Season of Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus |

Looking for a way
to spend the evening with 75 or more attractive, witty, talented gay men? Look
no further than the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus, which will shortly hold
auditions for new and returning members for its upcoming 21st season.
The chorus,
Florida’s
first gay performing-arts organization, will begin its season with rehearsals on
July 19 in preparation for its first community performance at the opening
ceremonies of the Gay Softball World Series Aug. 14 at the War
Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to many such community
performances throughout the year, the FTLGMC will present its Fall Concert
on October 27, its
Holiday
Concert Dec. 16-17, the annual
South Florida
Choral Festival on Feb. 24,
and it’s Spring Concert in June, date yet to be finalized. “We welcome
singers with virtually all ranges of musical skills and experience,” says
Todd
Wiley,
Gay Men’s Chorus director. “We have members who are or have been professional
performers and music instructors, and those whose performing experience is to
sing in the car, the shower and maybe a bit of karaoke. Our members range in age
from their early 20s to their 70s and are doctors, lawyers, realtors, retailers
and more. We are as diverse as is our musical repertoire. Everyone’s welcome.”
The chorus’ weekly rehearsals are on Wednesdays from
7:30 to
10:30 p.m. at the
Sunshine Cathedral, 1480 SW 9th Ave. Auditions in 2006 will be held at
Sunshine Cathedral beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturdays June 24, July 29 and Nov.
4. Persons interested in auditioning should arrive no later than 1 p.m. and
bring sheet music to audition with — anything from a simple folk or pop song to
as complex as an Italian aria. An accompanist will be provided. Pre-registration
