I’m sure we all have those rivals and bullies from the past we never thought we would ever have to see again. What would you do if you happened to encounter your high school nemesis ten or so years later? Would you be cordial, or what you let the claws come out and finally say what’s on your mind? “You Again” stars Kristen Bell who plays Marni Young . Marni discovers her brother, Will (James Wolk), is about to marry her High School rival, Joanna (Odette Yustman), and sets out to expose the fiancee's true colors. The plot thickens when Marni's mother Gail (Jamie Lee Curtis) meets up with Joanna's aunt Ramona (Sigourney Weaver), and it is revealed that Gail and Ramona were also high school rivals. Also, let’s not forget Betty White as Grandma Bunny. Although Kristen Bell plays the title role, Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver are the main attractions. These women have been icons in Hollywood with their notable roles from the 80s. Curtis, daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, was known early on as the “scream queen” due to her roles in “Halloween” and “Prom Night.” Roles in movies such as “Trading Places” in 1983 and “A Fish Called Wanda” in 1988 helped Curtis shed her former “scream” image and create a new persona in Hollywood. In 1994, Curtis won a Golden Globe for her role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “True Lies.” Sigourney Weaver jumped onto the Hollywood
radar in the mid-1980s with her role as Ellen Riply in the “Alien”
franchise. Weaver is also a three-time Academy
Award nominee for her performances in “Aliens” (1986), “Gorillas in
the Mist” (1988), and “Working Girl” (1988). |
