Do you know anyone left on the planet who does
not either have a Facebook account or has at least heard about
Facebook? Over the last few years, social media
has conquered popular culture and has infiltrated every single
aspect of our lives. It’s no surprise that “The Social Network” is a drama directed by David Fincher about the founding of the social networking website Facebook. The film features an ensemble cast, which consists of Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Max Minghella, Rooney Mara and Armie Hammer. The film was written by Aaron Sorkin and adapted from Ben Mezrich's 2009 nonfiction book The Accidental Billionaires. None of the Facebook staff, including founder Mark Zuckerberg, were involved with the project. One of the co-founders, Eduardo Saverin, was a consultant for Mezrich's book. The film focuses on the tumultuous early years of Facebook, which was founded in 2004. |
