“Red” stars a mega-watt cast including Bruce Willis (Frank Moses), Mary-Louise Parker (Sarah), Morgan Freeman (Joe), Helen Mirren (Victoria) and John Malkovich (Marvin). The title of the film “Red” stands for retired, extremely dangerous, which is the stamp ex agents receive upon retiring.  

According to a press release by Summit Entertainment, “Red is the story of Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Freeman, Malkovich and Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive.”

One of the film’s stars, Helen Mirren, has won an Academy Award, four SAG Awards, four BAFTAs, three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards, and two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards during her career.  She has been nominated twice for best actress at the Academy Awards for “The Queen” in 2006 and “The Last Station” in 2009; and also best supporting actress for “The Madness of King George” in 1994 and “Gosford Park” in 2001.  Originally getting her start in the theatre, the English actress, is one of the most critically acclaimed actresses in Hollywood.  She has shown her amazing acting chops in every possible performance medium including the stage, television and film.
