A four Letter Word is full interesting characters.
From the Gay cliché, out all night partying and sleeping
around Chelsea Boy, Luke (played by Jesse Archer)
to Zeke (Cory Grant), the Gay crusader who
rails against people living the stereotype, there is someone
for everyone. The movie also has a bad boy hustler, a
perfectionist, the ideal guy, and an alcoholic fag hag. All
of the characters come together and bounce off of each other
in a laugh out loud funny Gay romantic comedy that gets
pretty hot and steamy from time to time. You know you're
in for some on the edge monkey business when the film opens
with a naked yoga class. But sex and gags are not all there
is to A Four Letter Word. Throughout the movie,
Writer-Director Casper Andreas toys with several
profound relationship issues including honesty, forgiving
and compromise. While dealing with these serious
topics, Andreas never fails to keep the pace moving and the
next laugh no more than a few lines away.
If
you liked Slutty Summer, A Four Letter Word is a
continuation of the story. Many of the characters reappear
and a few new ones are thrown in. The film has corny gags,
similar to
Another Gay Movie, but
the theme of the movie, being true to yourself, is never
hard to find.
Virtually
every character in this movie is in some kind of group like
A. A. or Sex Addicts Anonymous, and the ones that aren't in
groups, belong in a groups. Fortunately most of the real
therapy happens at the bar or in the dark room. When
Stephen (Charlie David) wonders out loud how Luke
became such an oral aficionado, Luke proclaims "hobby". But
why should a passionate relationship that started out with
dislike and harsh words in a bar, that was later consummated
in a dark room, is full of deception and even borderline
betrayal work out? Why shouldn't the relationships that
developed in healthier ways be the ones to succeed? The
movie answers those questions and makes a statement about
looking for love. Maybe its been right in front of you all
along.
The movie, A Four Letter Word is a great Four Star Gay
romantic comedy that we recommend you see.
