The Brave One ***** (Five Stars)

An Absolute Must See!  This movie was simply amazing, for director Neil Jordan was able to capture everything you could ever want in a great movie, and roll it all up into this one.  This is a spine chilling suspense, thrilling crime story, high paced action movie, all rolled up with touches of courage, fear, romance, survival, and vengeance.    The plot was simply incredible and had you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Jodie Foster is truly captivating, with a unique ability to suck you in and force you to watch her every move.  Leaving you breathless the entire movie, as you watch her go through a wide range of character emotion and turmoil.  You see her happy and in love, you see her brutally beaten, humbled, fighting for her life,  living in fear and then you see her find the courage to go outside and learn to protect herself.  You may not agree with the ways she does the things she does, however you understand why she does them.  She had me sucked in and on her side from the moment she appeared on screen, and I would venture to say that this may be her best role yet.  Yes, in a long list of amazing films.

As you may have seen in the previews Jodie Foster plays Erica Bain a shy quiet radio personality who happens to be in love and planning her wedding.  One day while walking through the park all of that changes instantly, with no turning back.  She and her fiance are brutally beaten, where she barely survives, and her fiancee David Kirmani (Naveen Andrews ) was not so lucky.

Go see this movie, for it is simply brilliant.  You will have no choice but to love it.  This tale is that of her survival, how she copes with her loss and fear of those things around her that she once held so dear.   You may not understand it at times, and you may not agree with the ending at all.  However you will love it none the less.

PS.  -- I will say that at times Jodie Foster was giving me the mortal version of a modern day tale of Batman (a vigilantly street cleaner)
