Stray Cats Go See this Movie ****(Four Stars)

Wicked, bizarre, sadistic, and yet realistic.   This is a film that encompasses the full range of human emotion.  From elated joy to the darkest suicidal moment, back up to fun and frolic then right back down to the moment of despair and grief.   The title emphasizes Stray Cats and the movie compares them to men/boyfriends.  No matter how much you love a stray cat, you can pet it, feed it and yet it is still capable of turning right around and walking out the door never to return.

Our journey zooms in on the life of Boyet (Ricky Davao) and Marta (Irma Adlawan) who live side by side in a duplex.   They are both single, he is gay, she is straight and coincidently they both have man troubles.  In fact their lives are almost mirror images of each other or at least their emotions are.  When things are good they are above the clouds laughing and carrying on like there is no tomorrow almost in a moment of musical theatre but when things are bad they bond together and wallow in self destruction, borderline insane asylum craziness.

Go See this movie, it will most definitely cause you to look inward and do some self reflecting as you compare yourself to the roller coaster of the lives on screen.  This is a bilingual journey with Tagala (the language of the Philipines) and English both spoken equally as they eloquently move back and forth from sentence to sentence, with such ease you barely notice.  So yes sometimes you are reading captions and sometimes you are not.
