Shrek the Third Umm It
was Good ***(Three Stars)
Entertaining, and fun.
Shrek the Third
brings more of the same adult (not sexual) humor on classic
fairy tales. This chapter literally brings a third addition
to the Shrek family as Fiona (Cameron
Diaz) gets pregnant. However
DreamWorks Animation
should probably learn from
Walt Disney Pictures in
that sometimes a cartoon sequil is best served on DVD.
Having said that if you enjoyed the first two you will of
course enjoy this one as well. Its exactly the same Shrek (Mike
Myers) still struggles with being an ogre
trying fit into the lifestyle of dating the kings daughter
Fiona (Cameron
Diaz) and the responsibilities that come with
that privilege. Prince Charming (Rupert
Everett) still claiming he is the rightful heir
to the thrown. Only in this version we have much more of
the princess, with Sleeping Beauty (Cheri
Oteri), Snow White (Amy
Poehler), Rapunzel (Maya
Rudolph), Cinderella (Amy
Sedaris), and Cinderella's Evil Step Sisters (Regis
Philbin). Loving the new additions, but we lost
the talents of the selfish / singing Fairy Godmother in this
episode. She is greatly missed- she made part two.
Other than every scene that the Cross-Dressing Evil Step
Sisters are in, my favorite scene is when Rapunzel - with
her ever so long hair gets her wig ripped off, and she is
bald. Girl I was gagging.
This is a cute and funny movie but nothing original. If
you are a big fan I would go to the theatre to see it,
however it would be just as entertaining at home on the DVD
player.
