National Treasure: Book of Secrets µµµµ

If you enjoyed the  2004 chapter of the mega hit National Treasure you will be sure to enjoy the sequel as well.   There is no unfinished story line that needed to be told here left dangling from the first.  So honestly you do not need to have seen the first to enjoy National Treasure: Book of Secrets.

That being said this is just an entertaining way of bringing you more of the same -- national level cover-up, with mission impossible ways to resolve the situation.  Not to mention this  journey, unlike the first is of a global scale treasure hunt.  Taking you from the US to Paris, then to  England, and then back to the US - where we then embark on the White House, and then to Mount Rushmore, all to uncover these secret findings that have been passed down for decades.  The best part about this film is that the excitement never stops.

This is wonderfully timed to be out just before Christmas. National Treasure: Book of Secrets is a a great selection for taking the entire family out to the theatre.  There is something for everyone. You will especially love this film if you are a big fan of puzzles or mystery. It even has a touch of romance as its predecessor ended so shall this journey end, with a romantic coupling).

As many of you know from my previous reviews, I do not like Nicolas Cage, in fact I never have.  I think he is a one note actor, and is the same in every film.  However I put my feelings on the back burner for the original moie and I have to admit he was brilliant in this one as well.  Nicolas Cage returns as Ben Gates, in fact all the key players are back for this tale, giving it nice welcoming home feel with familiar faces.   We have Ben's wife Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger), his father Patrick Gates (Jon Voight), and of course the super adorable sidekick and technical wizard Riley Poole (Justin Bartha)

I was shocked at the level of excitement and suspense that was generated from this movie.   The audience is often on the edge of their seat, eager to find out what's just around the bend.  So grab your friends and or your family and go see this movie.

PS if you look for a clue.... it gives you a tie in to a possible part 3
