I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Loved it ***** (Five Stars)
Ladies and Gentlemen
Adam Sandler
is back, in his funniest and yet one of his most honest
films in the last few years. He has always been comfortable
with his gay or fem side bringing it into most all of his
sketches.
Yes as for the gay community is concerned this film is full
of stereotypes and gay cliches however it was done in such a
tasteful and fun way that you easily overlook what is being
said and begin to realize this is actually a pro gay film.
For Example: In the beginning
Adam Sandler
(Chuck Levine) is a homophobic, womanizing male slut. A man
who often uses the word Faggot. However by the end of the
film he is punching pastors in the face for calling him a
faggot. He started off being ashamed to pretend to be gay,
to being gay and proud.
This is not only a film bringing attention to gay marriage
and homophobia, but it also brings a message of brotherly
love and going to the ends of the earth for those you care
about. Forget the fact that he had to get married for a
stupid reason about his pension or whatever, I'm just glad
that they did. Ps - am I a chubby chaser, because I think
Kevin James
(Larry Valentine) is so freaking adorable. I have secretly
been in love with him since seeing him on the TV show
The King of Queens.
I have to admit my favorite scene is when the extremely
butch and super intimidating muscle man
Ving Rhames
(most famous from his role in
Mission: Impossible III),
confesses to Chuck that he too is gay, and thanks them for
living thier life out in the open making him more
comfortable to love himself. It was also great to see some
cameos from some famous faces out and proud in our gay
community. Such as the extremely gorgeous
Richard Chamberlain
(Councelmen Banks), and the recently outted pop singer
Lance Bass
(Wedding Singer.)
Go see this movie, I'm sure you will love it as well. Yes
it forces you to laugh at gayness, however that is the back
door into gay acceptance. And you will find yourself coming
out of the theater with a big smile on your face, and a song
in your heart.
