The Bourne Ultimatum
Go See It ****(Four Stars)
If you
love a face paced action movie, grab some Dramamine and go
see this film. You will not be let down, for they pull out
all the stops for this high speed action thriller. I truly
loved the scenes where he seemed to out smart everyone,
guessing the next move before they acted it out. He had a
unique ability to practically disappear right in front of
you. The plot was extremely well written and made perfect
sense. Keeping the audience engaged and up to par on what
he is gong to do next, and how. It was also done
tastefully, and well explained. Not in a way where the good
guy is shot at 400 times and never gets hit.
Yet again in this journey Jason Bourne (Matt
Damon)
is milking his amnesia, not knowing how he became a special
operatives agent trained to kill. This chapter of his
legacy was dedicated to his memory loss and recovering that
information. The excitement is in the fact that he is
capable of anything, and the world is at his fingertips. No
matter how many people are after him he is able to out smart
them.
My biggest complaint with this film is that every time there
was an action scene, the camera was zoomed in with extreme
close-up. Jumping and spinning around at a high pace, often
leaving the audience a bit disoriented and frankly ready to
puke. I guess this works to the advantage of the plot
because you are left confused of what is really happening,
or that way they dont have to really do the fight scene at
all. They just shoot his arm moving and a face reacting and
there is your scene, and no one gets hurt. It was much
like a little kid with a new cam corder, and you are left
watching it and getting nauseous
In conclusion, this movie rocked, and Jason Bourne ruled.
There were many levels of crossing and double double
crossing. The energy was high and the action at a premium.
Go see this movie you will love it, however, really -- don't
forget your motion sickness medicine.
