Go See It ****(FOUR STARS) |

I hate to spoil the movie for you but the boat flips over
and sinks... I know... I know -- SORRY. However, in all
seriousness, I knew this would be an over the top movie as
far as the budget went with special effects however I was
most shocked at the level of character depth and
development. I was also pleased with the believability of
both the sets and the whole situation. WOW, its Ironic one
minute you are celebrating and bringing in the New Year and
the next you are fighting for survival. |
|
This is based on the 1972 film, however I think it well
surpassed the original as well as outdid itself with its
amazing stunts and the intensity that will keep you thrilled
and on the edge of your chair. Dare I say this movie was
very much a Mission: Impossible. It all begins as we board
an over the top luxury cruise liner celebrating New Years
eve with special entertainment from Fergie (Black Eyed
Peas). Moments later the huge and unexpected freak wave
topples the boat and puts everyone in danger, yes everyone
rich, poor young or old everyone was affected and had to
fight for their lives. |
|
Among the people that are trying to escape are
Emmy Rossum (who gained
the love and respect from gay audiences as Christine in
The Phantom of the Opera), Josh
Lucas (the hotty with the most incredible blue
eyez and the pilot we fell for in
Stealth), the super hot
and sweet
Mike Vogel, and of
course
Richard Dreyfuss who
plays a gay guy,
Kurt Russell, and
Freddy Rodríguez from
TV's
"Six Feet Under". My
favorite scene is the Elevator scene, wow super intense and
truly captures a sense of panic and frustration. Not to
mention its just creepy making you as the audience you are
merely sitting in a chair watching the film and not actually
in it, yet with the intensity it was as if you were right
there in the midst of the action. |

Everything about this journey was believable to me except
that so many people died just from the boat flipping over,
the flash fires are a different story but with the initial
flip many lost their life. That was weird and with a boat
full of 40,000 people we only saw 50 people alive after the
accident that was just weird. However this ride is truly
exciting, full of incredible graphics and I recommend you
see it to believe it. |

Loved It ***** (five Stars) |

WOW - Poseidon is awesomely entertaining in every way.
Titanic fans look out there is a new boat tragedy movie
in town. No really, this movie is just as intense and
emotionally charged as you could imagine. |
|
The
special effects produced in the film are tremendous, every
explosion and every severed limb is unclockable! Unlike the
Titanic... there are some really graphic blood shedding
scenes throughout the entire movie. This factor is what sets
this movie apart from its predecessor.

|
Some big name stars including Kurt Russell keep this movie
afloat. Kurt Russell is not one of my more favored actors,
but he won me over with his performance in this movie. He
plays an overly protective dad who ends up saving the day.
There isn't a major love story behind this movie but the
bonds created between the survivors is enough to make you
shed a tear or two.

The movie doesn't waste time, shortly after the boats beauty
is introduced so is the mayhem. From that point on this
movie is a rocking rollercoaster with amazing CGL. Flash
fires, internal flooding, electrical explosions, and free
falling elevators all make for action packed sequences.

Natural disaster or not...you wont catch me on a cruise ship
anytime soon. Don't let this boat sink without you-go see
it! |
