Loved it ***** (Five Stars) |
|
|
I loved it, this is a touching romantic, time traveling
fairy tale / fantasy set in reality, and is quite honestly,
probably the best romantic movies I have seen in a very long
time. I must let you know that thought this movie is great
it starts off slow, but then the characters get moving and
before you know it you are sucked in. |
|
I have never been a big fan of
Keanu Reeves for I
always thought he was stuck in one air head character from
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
I must tell you that he and
Sandra Bullock are both
phenomenal in this movie. They take you deep into character
development and you believe it. |

Here is what happens Kate Forster (Sandra
Bullock) is an attractive, educated doctor who
leaves a note for the new tenant at the lake house she has
been staying at. Basically asking them to forward any mail
that might get left for her. Alex Wyler (Keanu
Reeves) plays the attractive, educated, architect
who gets the letter only now for the confusing part Kate
wrote the letter in 2006 but Alex gets the letter in 2004
before Kate ever even moves in. Yes this is where the time
traveling fairy tale comes in or the magic mailbox, and much
to your comfort they are just as skeptical as the audience
that this could even be happening and then it becomes
engaging, and interesting. You start relating and
sympathizing with these characters as they engage in their
drama. Kate obviously exists in 2004, and she can tell him
where she was then but Alex cannot say where he is in 2006
for he doesn't know. Alex and Kate have a real problem on
their hands they have a deep and real love, a true spiritual
connection and yet they have to find a way to overcome the
drama of the time stamp to where they can be in the same
place and time. |
|
The only thing that is not explained is how the Time
Machine Mailbox works and or why it does what it does
but once you are able to wrap your mind around the
fantasy that it just happens, you are in for a touching
tale. The funny thing is they share the same dog (gotta
love a dog that plays chess), and at first your like how
could this happen but its explained in a literal -
believable way. |
|
The script was amazing showing people in the past and the
present, its a small world and its an intricate world
through time and this story is played out like a mystery
with fathers and mothers and an ex boyfriend that comes and
goes both in the year 2006 and 2004, and its well explained
and able for you to understand, and will leave you with warm
fuzzies and the musical selections were great and accurately
portrayed the mood you needed to feel. |
|
This movie made me want to read Jane Austin's "Persuasion"
where this film was somewhat like life imitating art, right
guy wrong time, and a whole lot of waiting and waiting and
then not even knowing for sure that its the right time or
place for your true love to happen. |
|
This is a great movie, a fun loving and truly touching
movie, in fact if you were a fan of Frequency, You've
Got Mail, or
Sleepless in Seattle
you will truly enjoy this film as well. Go see this
movie, and go see it with someone you love or desire. |
