"What Lola wants, Lola Gets..." This is a hilarious
and fun movie, and an absolute must see by all from
any age. This is such an amazing story it clearly
makes sense that it is based on a true story.

We follow the life of Charlie Price (Joel
Edgerton) who's father died and left him the shoe
factory that has been in his family for three generations,
the shoe factory that is the major employer for the small
town that it resides in. Now charlie takes over the
factory and realizes that its going under, and he is now at
a crossroads and faces a major struggle of what to do next.
Its about facing responsibility and not running away or
giving up, even if you have a terrible job, a boring life
and an unhappy relationship. This film is about what happens
in the mysteries of life, even through our best laid plans,
and it may take you on a journey you never expected. Lets
say it this way -- Sometimes you don't have a good idea
until it hits you in the head ... Literally. |
|
This is a fun and free spirited journey into the life of a
shoe factory, and you get to see the inside, the magic the
mystery and the importance of craftsmanship. Yet there is a
flip side one with flair and pizzazz a side that guided by a
drag queen named Lola (Chiwetel
Ejiofor), a flamboyant drag queen that leaves the
small townspeople speechless and bewildered. Lola is an
amazing performer with great costumes and she even sings her
material live, and she teaches you that You never know what
unexpected joy you will find amongst the unwanted.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is
absolutely amazing, as Lola she is loud, funny, clever and
witty. Yet as Simon he is sensitive and moving, believe it
or not no matter which role he is playing Lola
Chiwetel is utterly
believable and super spectacular. She brings a familiar
element from
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen
of the Desert with
their fun and quirky antics. |
|
By the way, there is a hilarious scene when Lola is staying
at a bed and breakfast and the house keep asks her if she is
a man -- Gasp. |
|
Over all I have to say this film might be a tad bit
predictable, yet its thoroughly enjoyable and ultimately
touching. You will soon find yourself rooting for Lola and
hoping that she indeed does come to save the day. Go see
this film with an open mind and get ready to enjoy yourself,
you cant go wrong. |
