It was Good ****(Four

If you are a looking for an action/adventure - Sci Fi movie
this holiday season, this is a success. For this movie was
high tech and faced paced, and jam packed with excellent
graphics. Some of the best cinematography and editing this
season, all of which we should have expected from director
Tony Scott. I admit
the Idea was great, an underground government funded high
tech time fold with a steady time warp that goes back 4 days
and six hours, with a touch of CSI, and a touch of cop
drama. However no matter how intensely they try to explain
it -- I'm not sure I buy it. |

The character development was
phenomenal, of course starting with Denzel
Washington. (who has previously worked with the
Director on the hugely successful
Man on Fire.) In this
film
Denzel played Doug
Carlin an ATF agent who truly gets caught up
in investigating a terrorist attack and falls in love on the
way.
Paula Patton who played
the victim Claire Kuchever, and she was simply stunning and
genuine.

|
Why is it that they have the
totally gorgeous
James Caviezel play the
terrorist Carroll Oerstadt, (Big change from his recent role
as Jesus in
The Passion of the Christ)
BTW, I loved it when he got teary eyed, wow powerful.
Lastly
Val Kilmer, was a bit
stand offish and weak yet believable as Agent Pryzwarra,
and is surprisingly still hot in his over weight body.
|
|
Side note -- I would have
liked to see them clip back to present day future and see
how the future was changed and how they reacted. I also
would have loved to see her explain to him what happened
being she didn't have a clue what was going on herself. |
|
Go with
an open mind and yes this movie is fun! Yes this movie
is entertaining, but No, it is simply just not
believable. I could however appreciate the focus on
New Orleans, and the little touch they gave to hurricane
Katrina. I am also glad they didn't focus on the love
story too much, and kept it more action. Needless to
say if you are going to go see this movie I do suggest
you see it on the big screen for maximum sensory
enjoyment.

Deja
Vu
Action/Adventure, Romance, Science Fiction/Fantasy and
Thriller. Everyone has experienced the unsettling mystery of
déjà vu--that flash of memory when you meet someone new you
feel you've known all your life or recognize a place even
though you've never been there before. But what if the
feelings were actually warnings sent from the past or clues
to the future? It is déjà vu that unexpectedly guides ATF
agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington) through an
investigation into a shattering crime. Called in to recover
evidence after a bomb sets off a cataclysmic explosion on a
New Orleans Ferry, Carlin is about to discover that what
most people believe "is only in their heads" is actually
something far more powerful--and will lead him on a
mind-bending race to save hundreds of innocent people. 2
hours, 6 minutes. MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for intense sequences
of violence and terror, disturbing images and some
sensuality).
