You
definitely need to see this film at the first chance you
get, it is a wicked funny journey full of many surprising
ups and downs and maybe even some unexpected loop-de-loops.
I will warn you however this journey is not for the light
hearted and by that I mean it’s Gay... or should I say
very Gay.
Director Todd
Stephens, who has brought us other Gay movies such
as
Edge of Seventeenand
Gypsy 83, has truly outdone himself this time.
Stephen’s is definitely is no stranger to campy
dialogue, Gay humor and realizes the importance of using
galebrities
(Gay Celebrities). And let me tell you there is no shortage
of galebrities in this film! The all-star cast includes
Lypsynka, the Drag Queen legend,
Matthew Rush, Falcon Porn Star Exclusive, Richard
Hatch, the Gay nudist from Survivor,
Darryl Stephens, from Logo's Noah's Arch,
Graham Norton, Gay Talk show host, and
Mink Stole whom most of us know from her roles in
John Waters movies. This all star cast definitely supplies
the much needed substructure to make a film like this fly.
Not to mention it’s quite shocking to see them out of their
normal famous personas and in much different roles such as
the one
Graham Norton plays – wow!
Everyone will enjoy this film for it is able to
encompass the entire Gay community and has everything from
queenie twink bottom boys, to
PFLAG
moms, to bears and of course all the way over to the bull
dyke lesbians. You will surely find something to relate to
in this film; I guarantee there is something for all of us.
I saw this with a couple of friends and they were not
exactly sure what some of the lingo meant, so bring your Gay
dictionary for terms like "BDSM" and "Water Sports."
This
is a parody flick and puts a spin on some of our
favorite films like
American Pie. This also reminds me of
Not Another Teen Moviewhere there is a group of
super diverse and yet very attractive teenage boys, Andy
(Michael
Carbonaro), Nico (Jonah
Blechman), Jarod (Jonathan
Chase) and
Griff (Mitch
Morris) who in this film are openly Gay and
make a pact to lose their virginity before the summer is
over. Another Gay Movie also pokes fun at other
favorites such as
Mommie Dearest,
Carrie,
Revenge of the Nerds, and
Queer as Folk. Like most other parody films you
don't need to have seen the original movies they are
making fun of, but it sure helps.
I
also think that you should know that not only is this film
over the top Gay, it is also over the top with its explicit
nature, to the point that they should be carding at the
door.
Go see this film, you will laugh, you will cry and you
will most definitely pee your pants, I know I did!
PS The best part about Another Gay Movie is the fact that
it makes being Gay completely normal, almost to the point
that if you were not Gay then you were the weird one. It
brings a whole different meaning to the term acceptance.
Andy is your typical All-American seventeen-year-old gay
virgin. Like everyone else, he's dying to have sex. Totally
out of the closet and mad-crazy horny, this naive high
school senior is caught in that awkward vortex between child
and adult. Much to the dismay of his Mom (who wonders why
all her carrots and cucumbers keep disappearing), Andy
spends much of his private time practicing for the big
moment when he'll finally take the plunge.
Andy
is not alone. He attends high school with his three best
friends, all of them totally out-loud-and-proud. Jarod is a
buff, blonde varsity-jock stud. Griff is the valedictorian,
sinewy sexy, and a closet romantic. Nico is the pierced
alternative-kid gay-cinema expert. The guys all have one
thing in common - they're all booty-virgins.
Muffler, 18, the boys' bulldyke Casanova stud bud, delights
in pointing this out. Muffler is a cheerleader-magnet with
loads of sexual experience under her mullet. The final straw
for the guys comes at Muffler's graduation party, where
everyone is having sex but them. That night they make a pact
to do "the big A" by the end of summer.
What follows is a raunchy ride on the bumpy road to butt
love. Along the way, the film spoofs not only American Pie
and gay movies from Trick to The Broken Hearts Club, but
also the entire gay lifestyle.
After the end-of-summer blow-out bash at Muffler's, the
boys' lives (and asses) will never be the same...
Will Andy decide he's not ready for sex after all? Will
Griff act on his raging crush for best friend Jarod? What is
Nico doing with Muffler's Grandpa? Will Andy get that gerbil
out of his ass?
Beneath
the film's sex-romp exterior beats the true heart of the
story - one of friendship and loss of innocence. Each
character experiences his own rite of passage on a journey
that spans from boys to men.
