the theme for the
2012 Seattle Pride
Parade, to be held
in downtown Seattle
on Sunday, June 24.
This year's theme is
“The Many Faces of
Pride”. Look all
around you and the
intricate jigsaw of
Pride will unfold to
you — Latino and
Asian and Native
American and black
and white; families
in all their
wondrous
incarnations;
20-year locals and
first-time visitors;
the transitioning
and the
transgendered; the
impaired and their
companion animals;
the athlete; the
aesthete; the
strange; and the

‘bistro’ fashioned to seamlessly meld into the historic surroundings,

Seattle's Out Loud &
Proud is the largest LGBTQ
gathering in the Pacific
Northwest. The event is held
annually at the Seattle Center
over Pride Weekend. The festival
takes place on the last Sunday
in June between 11 AM and 7 PM.
Typically over 50,000 people
attend with over 100 vendors and
dozens of sponsors
participating.
The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film
Festival is an annual film
festival in Seattle which first
took place in 1996. It is part
of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, a
nonprofit organization which
promotes queer cinema. The 15th
Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film
Festival will take place October
15-24, 2010.
Seattle is the home of several
coffee companies, Starbucks
being the most recognizable.
Starbucks has been at Pike Place
Market since the coffee company
was founded there in 1971. The
first store is still operating a
block south of its original
location. The Space Needle,
dating from the Century 21
Exposition (1962), is Seattle's
most recognizable landmark.
