Perfect Pizza!
Brick Oven Goodness at Luce
Hollywood, Florida has always had a lot to offer
and now more and more places are opening specifically for the gay
community. Luce, which serves New American Cuisine, is now under
gay-ownership, and is a great place to grab a delicious bite and have a
cocktail.
We stopped by Luce one evening to try out their
brick oven pizza, which we heard was amazing.
Luce is very tastefully decorated, with exposed
brick. It has a real sort of cool New York City feel. There is a
incredible bar in it that is about 30-feet-long and an outdoor patio
that doubles the size of the place.
We ordered their brick oven pizza, which did indeed
live up to its reputation! They have a large selection to choose from,
and we went with the Quattro Carni pizza and Margherita pizza. The tasty
brick oven creations are available in three sizes – $10.99 for a
10-inch, $13.99 for a 12-inch, and $18.99 for a 16-inch.
Our
Quattro Carni Pizza included pepperoni, sausage, meatballs and diced
ham. The Margherita was pure perfection. The pizzas had a perfectly
crisp crust.
Pizza is not the only thing offered at Luce,
though. They also have a large selection of entrees, salads and
starters. They Luce menu includes an impressive wine list – make sure to
check it out.
Some entrees that interested us included Eggplant
Parmigiana, Fettucini Alfredo, Pasta with Mussels (in a red or white
sauce), Grilled Chicken with broccoli and roasted potatoes, Shrimp
Scampi served with linguine, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Francese, Chicken
Sorentino, Pan Fried Trout Piccata and NY Strip Steak.
Luce's prices are very reasonable – entrees are
between $12.99 and $18.99 and their dinner pasta dishes cost between
$9.99 and $16.99.
Their attractive bar area and outdoor patio are
great places to hang out with friends and have a few cocktails. They are
starting Sunny Sundays, which includes beer, margarita and pizza
specials, and they are having a deejay come by to entertain.
Luce also has entertainment every Thursday, first
show at 7 p.m., with jazz vocalist and seven-string guitar ace Davis &
Dow.
New nightly promotions for your entertainment are
coming soon! Make sure you check their ads for more information.
Luce is open for lunch and dinner and is
conveniently located in Downtown Hollywood, Florida on Harrison Street
(about 1-1/2 blocks West of Young Circle). Check out this exciting and
fun place!
