Mark Dalton blasted onto the gay porn scene a few years back with his amazing sex appeal, Texas charm, and physical attributes that most men can only dream of achieving.  Although he has never performed in a hardcore gay scene, his solo performances have fulfilled the fantasies of countless numbers of fans.  However, there is a hardcore side to this gay porn idol.  Just when his career was at a peak and shortly after finishing his last film Super Soaked for Falcon Studios – Jocks Line, he found himself behind bars for possession and domestic violence.  This was not his first run in with the law either, but as he told me during my exclusive interview, he has learned some valuable lessons and plans to stay out of trouble in the future. 

For some people this experience would end a career, but for Mark Dalton it seems to have amplified his public appeal and his fans are chomping at the bit to see more of him. He is now a free man (well almost, he is on probation) and is making a huge splash with his Super Soakin’ America Tour.  In today’s world of celebrity idols who find themselves incarcerated and still adored by fans, it is only fair that Mark’s celebrity porn status can be sustained just as our mainstream stars have.  After all, porn can certainly use a few bad boy icons like Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Dalton is a far better looker than him! 

He and his manger David Forest have lined up his Super Soakin’ America Tour and South Florida fans came out in droves to see this super hunk perform.  He drew record crowds at VooDoo Lounge and Boardwalk Bar in Fort Lauderdale this past Sunday night.  The club promoters told me they were thrilled with his shows and the business he brought in was excellent!  I was present for both shows and I can tell you this man is a true entertainer when he takes to the stage!  He had both audiences in a total frenzy as he stripped, teased and wowed all who were there.  He is a well choreographed machine when he is on stage and I was a bit surprised to see he was a truly nice man off stage as well.  I was thrilled to be granted the exclusive rights to photograph Mark and conduct his first interview since being released from prison.  I sat down with Mark at Boardwalk Bar prior to his show for this revealing and insightful interview…enjoy!

GIO     Welcome to Ft Lauderdale!  I understand you were down in South Florida one other time, how long ago was that? 

Mark   Thank you Gio.  I guess it has been about 3 years, so it has been a while. 

GIO     Oh yeah, you were at Cupids Cabaret back then.  How was performing totally nude for you? 

Mark   It is really no big deal for me to be nude.  I was in DC last week and went all nude at that club… (Laughs) it is just the crowds that are a bit different. 

GIO     Tell me what drives you to get up and stage and perform as well as you do? 

Mark   I love the attention to be honest and it is fun!  I have an extreme amount of fun when I perform and meet new people.  For me it is always fun to see people’s reaction and the looks on their face when they see me performing. 

GIO     Well I can tell you are having a good time up there, your show at VooDoo Lounge earlier was outstanding.  You dance very well…where did you learn how to shake your goods so well?

Mark   (Smiles) Thank you!  A long time ago, when I was 18, I got started dancing at a club called La Bare where I danced for women.  At that time I was bringing home bags of money and I was still living with my mom and dad.  One time my dad said to my mom “I need to get me a job up there” and my mom said “you can’t dance” and then he said to my mom…”Yeah baby, I may not be able to dance…but I know what to shake it and how to shake it” (he laughs) so for me, I pretty much know what to shake and how to shake it (big smile). 

GIO     Yes you do! Speaking about family, I understand you are a Texas boy.  Did you grow up in Texas? 

Mark   Yeah, in a very small town with one stop-light! When we got a Dairy Queen it was very cool. 

GIO     Wow, that is small.  Coming from such a small town, what made you decide to cross over from performing for women at La Bare and becoming what many consider you to be, a gay icon? 

Mark   (blushes) Man, well I do not think it was a choice.  How it really happened…I was working at La Bare in Miami and this man who was a director saw me there one night and approached me. I decided to sign a video contract with him and I did a couple of videos for him.  I did not expect many people would actually watch them; I did it for the money.  I continued to work at La Bare and was still living with my mom and dad about a year and a half after shooting those videos.  Around that time I decided to dance at this gay club in Dallas.  I was there maybe three days and this guy came up to me and asked me if I was Mark Dalton and I did not understand how he knew that name because I only used that name in that video I shot over a year earlier.  He told me to go to Muscle Service.com and look in the forum room because people in the forum are always talking about you.  So, I went to the site that night and there were like a 1,000 people posting different things on there all about me.  So, I posted my Email address and cell phone number on the site and two weeks later I was in L.A. and I shot the cover of 7 different magazines.

GIO     Quite the experience!  You have appeared on the cover of pretty much every major gay publication and in such a short period of time.  At this point in your career you have only done solo work on film, do you think you will ever go more hardcore and do a sex scene with another man? 

Mark   (laughs) I’m not sure really…it is always good to keep people wanting more I guess.  But, never say never.  It is nothing that I am against; I just have not made that choice yet. 

GIO     Fair enough…I would be remiss if I did not go there…(Interrupted) 

Mark   Gay or straight right?  Everyone asks… 

GIO     No, that was not going to be the question, but since you brought it up…I did read that you state you are “sexual” right? 

Mark   (laughs) yeah, you know….All my gay friends think I am straight and all my straight friends think I am gay and that is honestly the truth (big smile). 

GIO     Well I like that answer!  You created a lot of buzz in the industry when you became incarcerated.  Tell me about the experience of going to prison for you and what you learned from it. 

Mark   What did I learn?  Hmmm…I learned to stay far away from…nah I won’t go there.  I learned to watch who I hanged out with to be honest.  Since getting out, I have been really hitting the gym very hard and focusing on me…because while I was on my little “vacation” as I like to call it, I was not able to work as much as I like or at all.  So I realized how much I really love the gym (laughs).  Honestly it has slowed me down in a lot of ways because it was 383 days of hell, it wasn’t fun. 

GIO     I can imagine.  While you were on your “vacation” did anyone recognize you from your porn career? 

Mark   Yeah…the first day I got to prison one of the lieutenants called me into the office and…I do not know how they found all this out…but he said, “I know everything about you and that you are a gay film star and we are going to send you to someone to talk to because of the extortion you may suffer when other inmates find out about you.”  He said they would try to extort money out of me and other stuff…I did not know what the whole deal was.  But, he was actually a good guy and he always kept an eye on me. He told me that if any guards or others gave me a problem to let him know.   

Actually…one guard did give me a hard time and he accused me of something that I did not do and that messed up my parole.  Of course I know the reason he did it, but I could not go against him in there.  It was a very tough experience.

GIO     That sounds tough.  Were you isolated from the other prisoners because of your gay porn star status? 

Mark   No, they did not go that far.  But, they did always keep an extra eye on me to make sure people were not messing with me while I was there.  Some of the guards would make jokes about me because of the porn work.  Even though I did not perform in gay movies with other men, they did not know that and they just assumed what I was about.  I mean, all they had to do was look up the name Mark Dalton on the internet and they would see “Gay Porn Star”, so that was all they needed to make it tough for me. 

GIO     Well if they were looking you up on the internet, I would bet they were probably jerking off to you secretly as well (laughs)… 

Mark   (big laugh) Yeah…it was like…how did you find that out about me (he laughs again with a big grin). 

GIO     Well it is obvious that you missed the gym, because since getting out you have worked yourself up to amazing proportions.  Tell me about your workout routine? 

Mark   Well, it is just about hitting the gym hard.  I have never worked out this hard in my life.  I used to be pretty lazy in the gym and now I am focused and go about 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. 

GIO     Well it is working and I am sure the crowd here at the Boardwalk will be just as impressed as those at VooDoo Lounge earlier tonight.

Mark   (Laughs) geez, thanks. (You have to hear his Texas drawl to appreciate the sexiness of his voice!) 

GIO     So…Boxers or briefs? 

Mark   I do not wear underwear; I also have to sleep naked. 

GIO     Commando!  Love it...dogs or cats? 

Mark   Dogs!  I love my dog, my dog is my baby…I love her, I love her, I love her… 

GIO     Awww, what kind of dog is she? 

Mark   She is a pit-bull.  She is the sweetest dog in the world, she rides everywhere with me in the car, sleeps in the bed with me, she is just awesome. 

GIO     Lights on or off for sex? 

Mark   Just dimmed 

GIO     Candle light? 

Mark   Nah (laughs) that is too much trouble. 

GIO     To sissy like for you I am sure!  (Both laugh) Favorite noise or sound? 

Mark   Hmmm…probably the ocean waves. 

GIO     When you go out in public, and being so recognizable, how do you like it when people recognize you? 

Mark   I love it, it is fun.  One of the craziest times was when I was in Barcelona Spain. I was there on vacation, not even performing.  I was walking down this place called the Ramblin (I think) and this guy who did not speak any English comes up to me…blah, blah, blah, Mark Dalton, blah, blah…So I shook his hand and he ran into this store nearby and bought a little camera and had someone take his picture with me and I thanked him.  Well…then he followed me around for about 45 minutes and I was like, what does this guy want, does he want to come to my hotel or what?  But he was nice and I said goodbye to him before going back to my hotel. 

GIO     That is a cool story.  One of my favorite things to watch in porn are the bloopers that happen while filming, can you share an embarrassing moment that happened to you while shooting? 

Mark   Hmmm…that is a tough one.   Well one thing I do that the people never see is when the camera is zoomed in on my crotch area; I will be stroking myself and making horrible faces to the crew and camera guy.  I can be a goofball, so that is funny I guess. 

GIO     If I were to ask you two closest friends what you best quality is, what would they tell me?

Mark   Oh good lord…my friends?  They would probably say there is nothing good about me, but I would say my personality is my best quality.  At least that is what I like about myself. 

GIO     What do you think is your best physical feature and you worst? 

Mark   I like my arms and need to improve my legs. 

GIO     If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why? 

Mark   (laughs) Wow…hmmm…I would be a Gorilla because I want to be that big one day, but not that hairy! 

GIO     Speaking of hairy, are you naturally hairy? 

Mark   Yeah, I am pretty hairy.  I shave my chest, stomach, legs…I get pretty hairy. 

GIO     You have never been photographed or filmed hairy, would you consider growing it out for a shoot? 

Mark   No, no…no.   Well I did one photo shoot for Jock Magazine where I was a little hairy. 

GIO     Gotcha, so what projects do you have coming up beyond the Super Soakin' Tour you are currently on? 

Mark   I am doing a video in March for Muscle Gods, which is a solo video company.  The first video I did for them was called The Model and it is one of my favorite videos.  It is me re-creating three muscle worship things I have done with clients.  One scene is me in leather, one as a jock and the other is more sensual and sexual.  It was a lot of fun and I got to do a lot of acting in it. 

GIO     I have seen that film and I am a big fan of solo videos and I can tell you that it is one of the best I have seen.  Tell me about www.MarkDaltonXXX.com and what the readers can expect if they join it.

 Mark  Right now there are over 10,000 pictures and hours of video clips along with all my magazine layouts.  We are in the process of trying to get a new graphic designer and a new webmaster to totally re-do it.  It is a good site now, but I want to make it better.  It is only $9.95, so the price is right for what you get. 

GIO     I have been to the site and it looks pretty good.  Let’s talk about your booking manager for a moment.  You have been with David Forest for quite a while now, what made you decide to go with a manager and to stay with David Forest after you got out? 

Mark   Well he does a very professional job and he is very reliable.  He is able to get me out there even when I am a little lazy to do it myself.  Overall he does a very good job for me (He gets a phone call from none other than David Forest during the interview.  They speak for a couple minutes about how his night is going). 

GIO     Well I guess that call is a testament to David’s commitment to making sure you are being taken care of while on tour.  After you leave Fort Lauderdale, what is next for you? 

Mark   Well my next stop on the tour is New York City at SPLASH.  I love that club; it is totally hot there and very good people there as well.  Then in March I have a couple gigs in Ohio and then one in Boston.  I also have my video shoot I mentioned earlier.  I will then be at the White Party in Palm Springs in April, which is a very hot event from what I have been told. 

GIO     Well you are busy for the next few months; that’s great.  Is there anything else you would like to share with the readers…perhaps something that they do not already know about you? 

Mark   They probably know everything there is to know at this point, at least everything that I want them to know (both laugh)  Ummm…I really do not have anything clever to say at this point. 

GIO     That is ok…I appreciate your time and I will let you get ready for your next performance.  All the best to you in the future… 

Mark   Thank you Gio, I appreciate it.  Oh, please send me some of the photos you take as well, since I have not had any taken of me since my “vacation” I would really like some.
