Gavin Waters

A Day in the Life of a Porn Star

By Troy Maillis

Gavin WatersPorn star and fitness/cover model, Gavin Waters, performed live in the flesh at Boardwalk on 4th of July weekend, with two hot shows each night. Mark’s List caught up with Gavin to talk about his life in the porn industry.

Mark’s List: Where did you grow up and how did you originally get into porn?

Gavin Waters: I grew up in Albany New York, I left the nest, saw a lot and came back, and it’s currently where I reside. I originally got into porn from getting offers through MySpace to just come out and do solos, which gradually got me into the industry.

ML: Was porn something you always wanted to do, or did you just wake up one day and want to try it out?

GW: I had been watching videos since I was a kid because I honestly had trouble getting a sexual partner at the time. I was a complete dork, and, when I did, I realized they usually did not fill my sexual needs. I never thought for the life of me I'd ever be in porn or have it go this far. There’s that roller coaster that no one will ride, and you ride it and now no one else can really explain it until they ride it to see where you’re coming from. So it’s tough for a lot of people to really take in and understand what I do.

ML: What’s been your favorite and least favorite scene to shoot? Has anything embarrassing ever happened?

Gavin WatersGW: I don’t really have a favorite or a least favorite. Everyone I've ever worked with, models, photographers, directors, producers, owners, have all been very nice. I probably have had the most fun shooting for Colt. Nothing embarrassing has ever happened but I always have this sudden fear like someone from back home followed me to a shoot and just walked on set and saw me [lol]. I know, weird.

ML: Describe what it was like the first time you shot a scene.  Were you nervous, excited, scared?

GW: The first time ever was with Sean Cody,

and I actually didn’t think I could do something like that. I was very nervous because I had never been filmed having sex, and then on top of that I had actually never been with a guy. So you can imagine what an experience that was all at once.

ML: Can you describe a typical day of shooting and what goes into to making the magic happen?

GW: I’m just used to flying out to somewhere warm, getting to a hotel, meeting my scene partner and director and getting ready to shoot. It’s really something different because you have to pass the fact that there is no maybe I’ll have sex today. You’re 100% going to have sex today. There’s always that fear that you may not like your scene partner and luckily I've worked with some really great people. Howard of Fabscout is good at making the magic happen.

ML: Do you like to watch the final product?  If so, do you watch it and think, “wow I look hot”?

GW: The first couple films I did, watching myself even for a few seconds grossed me out, but my latest films that I have really put a lot into I could really watch and see my progression. I know what I like to watch and I want to make a film that someone would watch again and really get into it.

ML: I read that you assume the bottom position in scenes, does it ever get uncomfortable after you’ve been shooting for so long?

GW: Not at all. People make that whole "warn out" assumption, and its totally untrue. I mean really it makes me one of the cleanest guys around because I have to constantly take care of things. I’m actually looking forward to changing that ratio and lately I have topped a few scenes as well. Why just become another big bottom? Then the industry gets skeptical.

ML: Do your friends and family know that you do porn, and are they supportive?

Gavin WatersGW: I was dating this momma's girl for a year, fell in love, and my entire community knew me from modeling before. I had done some serious catalog modeling for A&F and things and also maintained 5,000 friends on Facebook. I'd say about a year later after my first film, two guys noticed me and called me out to my girlfriend at the time at her work. I walked into a room full of her entire family, her crying with laptop open, and then my dad walking around the corner. I’m the last guy in the world anyone pictured doing this, and, on top of it, it was gay porn. I’m a pretty manly guy, so when people found out, they really had to see it to believe it. You can only imagine the car ride home with my dad. I lost a lot of friends and it changed my family a lot. That’s life though and it was hard for a long time. I couldn’t go out and still can’t in my hometown without hearing something. Guys really don’t like to see the guy that did gay porn with the hot blonde they can’t get. It’s irony really. Now a days it really doesn’t bother me because I do get some positive feedback, and I like what I do and have fun with it. My real friends don’t support it but they don’t judge me and are there for me. My agent supports it though =).

ML: If you could shoot a scene with any other porn star who would it be and why?

GW: I think the Visconti Triplets are all hot and an absolute riot. I think they've done a great job at getting out there, and it would be cool to work with one of them or all three, who knows? On the female side, I’d love to work with Tori Black or Teagan Presley. They are both new to the industry, like myself, and have accomplished so much.

ML: Is your career in porn a means to an end for another career, or do you want to continue in porn?

GW: It just really hit me this year that I needed to take porn seriously, not that I didn’t before, but that I could really make something of it. All in all, I would love to make my mark in the industry and make a little cash. When I really can’t do it anymore, I would like to go back to school, or get involved corporately in one of these companies. Maybe I’ll be a director or even a producer. I will continue to do this, dance, webcam because it’s a lot of fun and I love it.

ML: Is there anything else you would like your fans or the public to know about you?

GW: I’m not gay, and I’m not straight or bi. I’m just a sexual guy.  I look forward to topping, bottoming, girls - a real true mix. I want to do things people really haven’t seen. Things that make people wonder or help them cross the threshold of either being gay or straight. I want to help them get that edge to finding themselves. I mean, who’s really seen something like a girl doing a guy from the back with a strap while that guys getting head from a guy in the front? Things like that just really make you a sexual person - the very true meaning of it. People look at you like you’re automatically crazy when they find out you do porn, but really I’m just your average nice normal college guy.

Thank you all for the continued support and I hope you enjoy the films. Stay on the look for my new non porn site coming out called www.gavinxoxo.com. For bookings contact Howard of Fabscout Entertainment at www.fabscout.com.
