Girls
Gay Day and Girls In Wonderland is presented by Alison
Burgos and Pandora Events and benefits the National
Center For Lesbian Rights.
NCLR – Founded in
1977, the National Center for Lesbian Rights is a
national legal resource center committed to advancing
the rights and safety of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender people and their families through
litigation, public policy advocacy, and public
education.
Amy Alonso
and Yesi Leon
(Pandora Events) have been producing women's
events for over 9 years. In 2001 Amy
and Yesi joined forces with event
producer, Alison Burgos
to work on a variety of women's events in South Florida
and around the country. Including weekly events and
annual events with co-producer Julie Garrity.
This dynamic trio of producers have had their hand in
some of the most successful women's parties, special
events and fund raisers in the country including: Bang
at Bongos, Women's White Party (Benefiting Care
Resource), Girls in Wonderland at Gay Day Orlando
(Benefiting National Center for Lesbian Rights), the
creation of Aqua Girl (Benefiting the GLFSF Women's
Fund), Cherry Pie Fridays, Ultra Saturdays, Erotica,
Vamp, Winter Party, Womenfest, and more....

Alison Burgos:, When you
meet Alison Burgos, chances are good she'll either be
shoring up support for a local charity, promoting a
women's social event or consulting with organizations to
develop their outreach for lesbians -- and usually it's
a combination of all three. Upon relocating to Fort
Lauderdale in 1998, she hit the ground running, using
the event production skills she'd honed as a volunteer
for numerous organizations in Washington, D.C. to help
unify the local women's community.

Her first event, the 1999 breast
cancer benefit Sweet Charity, not only raised $12,000,
but it also planted the seeds for what would become Aqua
Girl, one of the preeminent women's fund-raising
weekends in the country. Now in its sixth year, 100
percent of the funds from Aqua Girl go to the Women's
Community Fund, which provides grants and scholarships
to improve the lives of lesbian, bisexual and
transgender women. Burgos has chaired the Women's
Community Fund for nearly two years, while also serving
on committees and boards for the Miami Gay and Lesbian
Film Festival, the Women's Alliance and other local
nonprofits.
In addition to her many altruistic
endeavors, Burgos uses her keen marketing savvy in her
career as an event producer and consultant. The
landscape of social outlets for lesbians in Florida
changed dramatically in 2001 when Burgos joined forces
with co-producers Julie Garrity, Yesi Leon and Amy
Alonso. This dynamic team is behind some of the hottest
weekly parties (Ultra Saturdays and Cherry Pie) and
special events (Bang at Bongos). But they still maintain
the philanthropic spirit that inspired Burgos to get
into the business; their Girls in Wonderland bash at
Disney's Gay Day benefits the National Center for
Lesbian Rights and their Women's White Party raises
funds for the HIV/AIDS services of Care Resource. Look
for Burgos to expand her outreach even further in 2006
when she and her co-producers bring their first women's
event to Atlanta Pride.
Alison, Amy and
Yesi also donate
their time and sit on numerous non-profit organization
boards and committees including; Aqua Girl, the White
Party, Winter Party, the Women's Alliance, the Miami Gay
and Lesbian Film Festival, LLEGO, NCLR and The Miami
Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
We love bringing fun and exciting
events to the women's community and strive to create
innovative and first class parties at the best venues in
the country.
