 DJ Bill Hallquist has been
entertaining dance floors in South Florida and in various
clubs around the U.S. and internationally for over 2
decades, and is currently a Billboard Magazine Club/Dance
Chart reporter, for 20 years. **He has held residence at
many major dance clubs in South Florida including the award
winning Club Space Miami, The Copa Fort Lauderdale and Key
West, 1235 on South Beach (currently Mansion), and the
original and legendary Salvation in downtown Miami. **Bill
has done DJ guestspots in almost every major club in South
Florida, including Crobar(now Cameo), Warsaw Ballroom,
Salvation, Amnesia(now Opium Garden), Mansion in South
Beach, the newer Club Space Downtown, and Twilo Miami.
**Until January 2004, he held residence every week for over
five years at the hugely popular Sea Monster Sundays in Fort
Lauderdale. He currently holds a residence at the legendary
Club Twist on South Beach and at Voodoo Lounge in Fort
Lauderdale, playing their wildly popular Sunday Babylon T
Dances. **Along with many guestspots at various major events
and clubs in South Florida, Bill has also done various
guestspots around the U.S., including the legendary
Pleasuredome San Francisco, Firestone Orlando, The Coliseum
in St. Petersburg, Florida, and The Mint, Grasshopper, ’O’ ,
and the legendary Rich’s, in Houston. **International
guestspots include various clubs and parties in Mexico (Oz in
Queretaro), and Central America (PTY in Panama City), and
South America, including Bogota’s Club Theatron, Sao Paulo,
Brazil, for the Ele.K.Tra Party promotion team,
Florianopolis, Brazil, for the Troy Party promotion team’s
Carnaval Pool Party, and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, for Rosane
Amaral’s amazing R-Evolution Original Brazilian Pool Party,
to cap off Carnaval week 2008. **Bill just recently returned
to Brazil for a very successful 3 city tour, spinning in Sao
Paulo at Bubu Lounge, Belo Horizonte at Club Josefine, and
in Rio de Janeiro at the beautiful club Cine Ideal. **Bill
has DJ’d at THREE White Parties at Viscaya in Miami, a major
annual AIDS fundraiser, considered my many to be the crown
jewel of all circuit parties. He has also played many White
Party Week events, including each year, when opened, at the
Sea Monster’s Fashion T and for several years now, the Swan
Song Party at Twist South Beach. **Bill has received various
DJ awards and has even had an award named after him, "The
Bill Hallquist DJ Of The Year Award" by the Dixie
Foundation, a South Florida AIDS fundraising organization,
after being presented the award three years in a row. **Bill
was the recipient of Fort Lauderdale’s 411 Magazine’s
Community Choice Award’s Best DJ Of 2002 and 2003, voted by
the readers and residents of Fort Lauderdale and Miami. **He
was Express Magazine’s Reader’s Choice for best DJ in South
Florida in 2005. **In December of 1995, he was inducted into
Dance Music Authority Magazine’s DJ Hall Of Fame. **He is
currently a member of N.A.R.A.S., (National Academy Of
Recording Arts And Sciences), The Recording Academy, which
hands out the Grammy Awards each year. **Bill has produced
or remixed several dance projects for various artists,
including Whitney Houston, 2 Unlimited, Yello, BKS, Linda
Imperial, Zelco, Ceevox, “J”, Cyn, Sean Ensign, and Ozzie.
**He is co-founder and president of Studio 1 South, a
project-recording studio in Miami, specializing in dance
music production and remixes. |
