Matty’s, which will
be locate at 2426 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors next to the New Moon
and across from Rosie’s in the strawberry plaza. After 10 1/2 years
at Georgie's Alibi (being an original employee) and also helping with
the openings of St. Petes Alibi and moving to palm springs for 10
months to help open Azul, it was time to move on to his own venture.
His business partner Ed Gonzalez, currently the GM of the St Pete
Alibi with no intentions of leaving there and Matt Auslander are 50
/50 partners. Rumors had been flying around that George Kessinger
and/or Terry Norman were also partners with them or was going to be, but
that's just not true. They both already have enough on there plates, though
they are all still very good friends. Matt has learned a lot from both of
them, and plans on opening in mid-June. Matty’s will be open 7 days a week
from 11 am -2 am (3 am on Fri and Sat). They will offer something for
everyone including diverse music, pool table, darts, a stage with many
celebrities already planned for shows, book signings, and meet & greets.
They will also have a 84"screen for nintento Wii (which will be free to
play) with the Wii craze all over the country they are sure it will be nice
to play with good and new friends at ones favorite watering hole. The bar
will also have long tables and benches for those looking to relax and
unwind. Matty’s will be a NON-SMOKING establishment (though smokers can
easily walk out front to the smoking area). Matty’s drink prices and
specials will be very competitive and they will also feature the much loved
happy hour prices. The bar will feature light colored wood floors and a
contrasting oak cherry wood bar with a chandelier in the center of the bar.
It will be quite upscale yet laid back and hopefully a great place for
people to hangout and enjoy. |
