Dinner or Lunch
at Bill's Filling Station?

PM
We heard
from a few friends that
Bill's is serving up great meal special that includes a
burger, fries or onion rings and a bottle of beer for $6 until 6 PM.
They call it the recession buster. Obviously this deal is too good
to pass up and so we we headed over at the first opportunity.
When a business is a bar first and
a restaurant second, you don't go in expecting much. Bar food in
Fort Lauderdale and WilMa seems to be bucking this trend and Bill's
is no exception. This is clearly not your typical bar food.
The burger was a double, made with
two patties and served with lettuce, tomato, onions and mayonnaise
on the side. Hot and juicy doesn't fully describe the burger. The
beef is 100% pure angus and the cook gets it right.
We had onion rings and fries on the
side. The fries were very good and like homemade, but we loved the
onion rings. The onion rings are made with a real slice of onion and
the batter is seasoned perfectly with a hint of what we thought was
tarragon. No kidding, gourmet batter on onion rings at Bill's! We
loved them.
The menu also includes finger foods
like wings and a chicken sandwich topped off with a chipotle
remoulade that we hear is 'to die for.'
